Barbara’s Pavillion

Located just a block away from the historic Texas Theater (where Lee Harvey Oswald was arrested after Kennedy’s assassination) and a half mile from the charming Bishop Arts District is Barbara’s Pavillion. Barbara’s has the distinction of being Oak Cliff’s only LGBT tavern. But in actuality its clientele is as diverse as the Oak Cliff area of Dallas. It draws men and women, gay and straight, young and not-so-young people of every background. Bartenders, patrons, and Dee Dee, who heads up some of the best karaoke in Dallas, make everyone feel like family. 36453784_10217251555540771_4725822158683504640_n

Karaoke nights are Thursday and Saturday and they always draw a big crowd of singers and their groupies. People come from all parts of Dallas and the burbs to croon. Dee Dee is a fantastic singer herself and has a sassy wit and a warm heart.

There’s a pool table and electronic games to pass the time. A juke box to play your favorite tunes. Or cozy up on the comfy couch with a friend. There are some great local brews on tap to quench your thirst or almost any cocktail you can dream up.
