BurgerFi is a new chain with two locations in the DFW area (there’s a second one in Arlington). I’m not sure what “BurgerFi” is supposed to mean; some play on “wifi” perhaps? In any event, BurgerFi does stand for dang good grub, served quickly by friendly folks in a bright, attractive dining room!!
Their menu features beef sourced from cattle free from steroids, antibiotics, growth hormones, chemicals, and other additives. There’s a burger with a blend of Wagyu beef and ground brisket (sounds yummy!). For vegetarians, they offer two: the “VeggieFi” which is apparently an “in-house” blend which includes quinoa, and – more interesting to me – the “Beyond Burger” which I’d heard about before and simply HAD to try.

I can’t imagine anyone not wanting a burger, but if you want something a bit different, they have offer a hot dog made with a Vienna Beef brand frankfurter. You can option this out as “New York Style” (sauerkraut and mustard) or “Texas Style” (chili, cheese and hot sauce).
As I said above, I tried out the Beyond Burger. While I wouldn’t mistake the Beyond Burger for ground beef, it was still a worthy option when you want something a bit lighter, healthier and sustainable. I’ll definitely work it into my regular rotation now! Well, right after I try their VeggieFi to compare! I accompanied my burger with a serving of lightly breaded, piping-hot onion rings. Perfection!
My dining companion tried a standard cheeseburger (wow!) and a hot dog, served simple on it’s bun. According to him, both were delicious! I can’t speak from personal experience, since both were gobbled up quickly and I was busy chowing down on my Beyond Burger!
BurgerFi also serves beer and wine, cane sugar sodas, custard (in cups or floats), shakes and “custard concretes” in various flavors. One I’m especially interested in is the “Red Velvet.” That one may deserve a special trip all it’s own!
If you’re in the Mockingbird Station area, as I was, drop in to BurgerFi and see if it’s not a great addition to the local burger scene!
