What makes Texas, Texas? How do you explain what makes our state so great to someone that’s never experienced it? You could go with the basics, Whataburger, Dr. Pepper and the Dallas Cowboys but that barely scratches the surface. Stock them up on everything they need to be an honorary Texan, a baseball cap that will proudly display their new found love for the Lone Star state or a t-shirt with Willie Nelson’s face that says “Have a Willie Willie nice day” to remind everyone how many famous people Texas is responsible for. Send them back home to their miserable cold weather with some famous Texas spices, rubs, jams or pecans so they can eat their misery away. Your cousin in New Jersey just had a baby? That kid definitely needs a onesie with a longhorn on it…and if your cousin doesn’t like it, you can simply follow up with a, “Bless your heart”, because that’s how we roll in Texas.
