If you like big biscuits and cannot lie, The Biscuit Bar is the spot for you. This unique food experience is in the heart of Arlington and a definite must-try for any biscuit lover, tater tot aficionado or someone looking to imbibe adult beverages somewhere new. Beer, tots and biscuits, all in one place? Sounds crazy, I know. However, after my visit, The Biscuit Bar has become my family’s go-to brunch spot. The atmosphere is fun but, appropriate for kids as well. You can devour your tots at the bar, sip a tequila sunrise on the patio or ravage a basket of biscuits in the air-conditioned dining area. On this first visit, I had the “Chicken & Not-a-Waffle”. It’s a large biscuit that’s made into French toast and then forms the bun for a piece of southern fried chicken. I’m not normally a person that combines sweets with meats but, this was delicious.
My companion had the biscuits and gravy and the fully loaded tots. Usually, we talk while we eat but, not this day. From the first bite, the only sounds we made were grunts of appreciation peppered with a few, “oh, that’s good”s. The steak and egg biscuit and the hot chocolate biscuit have become my favorites but the Chicken & Not-a-Waffle holds a special place in my heart. Pro tip: if you’re visiting Six Flags or Hurricane Harbor, eat here AFTER you’re done. If you’re going to a game, eat here first and you’ll spend less on concessions. Stop by The Biscuit Bar and let us know if you’re a Biscuit Devotee or a Tot Enthusiast…it’s okay to be both.
