Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza

Let history unfold before your eyes with a visit to the Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza. Located in downtown Dallas, in the exact spot where this tragic event unfolded, you will get a behind the scenes look at John F. Kennedy’s presidency and the events that transpired on November 22 1964.

Before arriving at the Dallas County Administration Building, I highly recommended purchasing your tickets online and making reservations for the time slot you would like to attend. This will help to expedite the check in process and make sure you are able to enter this popular museum. After finding parking at one of the local paid lots, make your way to the Dealey Plaza at the intersection of Elm and Houston Streets, to see the famous grassy knoll where patrons waived to the beloved president. Take your time exploring the scenery in the plaza before or after you have had a chance to take your tour.

Once inside you will be give headphones and a small radio like device that will guide you through the exhibit. Take your time on this self guided tour to learn. After taking the time to read each station you will be after to stand in the exact spots of the intersection. While this tour is somber it gives you a great insight into some Dallas history.

After the tour there is a great gift shop to check out with memorabilia, books and more. Whether you are a local or have out of town guests you will be sure to enjoy this great historical tour.
