Hugo’s Lost Colony

Escape to a restaurant that truly feels like paradise with a visit to Hugo’s Lost Colony. This magnificent space will transport you out of DFW and make you feel like you have escaped to the exotic destination of Tulum. With their luscious jungle decor and delicious Tex-Mex inspired menu, you will feel like you are on vacation (but you won’t need to pack your bags to head on this trip!).

From the moment you pull up to the restaurant, located in Highland Village near Lewisville, you know you are in for a treat. This spot is truly Instagram-worthy from the fun neon signs located along the bar, to the floor-to-ceiling greenery. I felt like I had just walked into a tropical resort rather than a restaurant. After taking time to admire the restaurant’s decor, you can start to focus on their delicious menu.

Since we visited Hugo’s Lost Colony during the weekend, we were able to enjoy their brunch menu. I loved that even though we came during prime time, the spot wasn’t overly crowded and we were able to enjoy the ambiance and food without feeling in a rush. When it was time to order, I went with the Huevos Rancheros that can topped with black beans, perfectly cooked eggs, and a delicious tomato avocado salsa. My eggs were served with crispy potatoes that paired well with the complimentary chips and salsa on the table. While we didn’t take part in the drink menu, I was pleasantly surprised to see such great happy hour prices served during their extended brunch hours.

Being such a popular photo-op spot, I didn’t have high expectations for the food, but was blown away by the flavor and fast service. Everything was cooked exceptionally and had the perfect amount of spice. Our whole party enjoyed their fair pricing and the wonderful service we had. This experience was truly 5 stars and I highly recommended taking a trip to Hugo’s Lost Colony, whether you are looking for a date night out or a new brunch spot to visit with your friends.
