Elmer W. Oliver Nature Park

It’s time to get outside and get active! With the beautiful winter weather we’ve been experiencing in DFW, I’ve taken advantage of being outside to enjoy the sunshine and mild temperatures. Recently I discovered Elmer W. Oliver Nature Park and had to share my great experience.

Located in Mansfield, it’s the city’s only nature park. Featuring a variety of activities from hiking trails, kayaking & fishing, bird blinds, an amphitheater, and even classes there is truly a place that you can enjoy all year long. I didn’t know this gem existed close to home, but I’m so happy I found it!

I decided to check them out when looking for a new place to walk. I loved how clean the trails were and how the directions and signs were clearly marked. I felt safe in the area and enjoyed basking in the beauty of the nature setting. I was even able to learn more about the wildlife and plants of the park from the signs displayed along the trails. The entire hike was 2.7 miles and even came across the expansive Joe Pool Lake. It was the perfect outdoor workout for the day and loved that it even included some learning along the way.

So next time you are looking to get some fresh air, I highly recommend checking out this nature park.
