Trusting new stylists with your hair is no easy ask, especially when you have textured or less-common hair types. Tried and True Salon offers a safe space for you to feel your best self, no matter your hair texture, hair color, race, religion, or sexuality. The salon is divided in two, with two separate entrances depending on whether you’re there to see a barber or hair stylist.

Tried and True Salon offers affordable and inclusive hair services in a unique and non-traditional setting. The salon is plastered with cool art, posters, and decor on both the walls and ceilings. There’s even a giant gold disco ball to set the vibes right.

I sat down with Kitty to refresh my curly hair. We also added layers and more shagginess to my hair. Kitty was kind, comforting, and friendly the entire time. My haircut also included a wash and styling for only $45. You can make an appointment in advance, or call the salon for stylist availability! Tried and True Salon also has a giant Polaroid camera to capture your new ‘do! Pictures are free when you tag and post about the salon on your socials.
