Enzo’s Deli & Imports

Looking for a delish Italian style deli with big portions and excellent imported goods? Then look no further than Enzo’s Deli & Imports. Located in Plano off Preston Road in the Lakeside Market this newly opened deli has already made a name for themselves. With their delicious fresh made Italian food and exceptional hospitality you will feel like family when you visit.

We decided to check them out when craving some deli style sandwiches. We had heard of Enzo’s from a local blogger and knew we had to try them out for themselves. Walking in we were unsure of which sandwiches we wanted to try, but we were lucky enough to meet the owner while pursuing their menu at the counter. They had so many different styles of sandwiches both cold and hot, but you can expect quality meats, bread, and ingredients with any of their options. Everything sounded great, but we ultimately decided on the Mamma’s Mortadella and the Godfather which were favorites of the staff.

While we waited for our sandwiches to be prepared fresh, we walked around the store and enjoyed seeing all of the great Italian imported products. From pastas and sauces to quality olive oil and canned tomatoes you will feel like you have stepped right into an Italian market. We felt that each item was priced properly and loved to getting to explore their variety of shelf stable items in addition to their frozen section that included premade meals ready to take home. While we were just stopping for sandwiches I can’t wait to return to try the lasagna, meatballs, pizza dough, and sauce.

Chatting with the staff while we waited helped to add to the community ambiance of Enzo’s. We felt like we were longtime friends and loved learning more about the story behind the deli. We only had a short wait before our sandwiches were ready and we couldn’t wait to devour them. While they don’t have seating in the restaurant you can grab a table outside or enjoy in the comfort of home. Each item is expertly packaged so you can ensure that they stay fresh.

We couldn’t believe how large the portions were for the sandwiches. One could definitely be split between two people, but our eyes were definitely bigger than our stomachs. The Mamma’s Mortadella came on house made ciabatta bread pilled high with fresh sliced mortadella, creamy burrata, fresh pesto, roasted red peppers, arugula, balsamic and a white truffle oil. Each of the flavors mingled well together and it was truly a decadent bite. If you are looking for something more traditional deli style, the Godfather is a great choice with its house roll bread, prosciutto, mortadella, gabagol, sopressata, salame, roasted red peppers, provolone, lettuce, tomato, onion, balsamic and extra virgin olive oil its truly a meat lovers dream. We thought both sandwiches tasted amazing and can’t wait to come back soon to try more of their tasty menu options.
