The municipality of Allen is known for its countless hiking, walking, and biking trails, boasting 80 miles of trails. However, McKinney has its own massive hidden gem; the 212-acre park known as Erwin Park.
Erwin Park is the perfect place to hang out, go for a walk, bike, and even camp. Erwin Park offers camping reservations across three different campsites for $12.50 per resident or $20 per non-resident. This beautiful prairie land makes for a great camping spot in the spring and fall.
There are also three picnic pavilions available for rent. They can be rented up to six months in advance for residents for $42.50 or $70 for non-residents. Rentals start at 3 pm and end at noon the following day. There are two restroom facilities nearby for campers and visitors!
Bikers are going to love the 10 miles of rideable mountain bike trails, even equipped with lumber roads and a skills course! There are also two bike repair stations with tools, a bike stand, and an air pump for minor repairs.
The kids can enjoy large open spaces, as well as multiple playgrounds on site!
