Cattleack Barbeque

With some many great places for BBQ in North Texas it can be hard to pick a favorite, but this spot stands out to me. Cattleack Barbeque in Farmers Branch has a limited schedule but truly packs a punch when it comes to their delicious meats and sides. Only open Wednesday and Thursdays for lunch and every first Saturday of the month, it may be hard to find time to try them out, but if you do find yourself with some weekday availability, I highly recommend stopping by.

I decided to get there early and even being fourth in line and there an hour before opening some of their items were already out by the time I ordered. If that doesn’t tell you how popular they are, then dining in yourself will. Their menu is full of delicious traditional favorites from beef and pork ribs to burnt ends and wagyu brisket in addition to their specials for the day that could include things like jerk chicken or pastrami ribs. No matter what meat you try, you know its going to be quality as you can truly tell the owners put their heart and soul into their food.

Along with the variety of smoked meats, there are plenty of sides, desserts and sandwiches to choose from. It was hard to narrow down what I wanted to try, but ultimately, I went with their wagyu brisket, burnt ends, and sausage. My choices came with slices of their pickles and pickled jalapenos, and classic white bread. They also gave me some of their homemade BBQ sauce, but the smoked meats didn’t even need it. Everything was moist, juicy and so flavorful that the line to get in was truly worth it.

They have a very casual atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating, but since I was dining alone, I decided to take my food to go. I was impressed that the takeout still tasted great and the flavors were exceptional. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone, and I plan to visit again soon when craving BBQ.
