After a recent ice storm, I knew that I wanted a way to support my community. This included using my day off to shop small and support local businesses that may have missed out on valuable opportunities to make sales but had to close due to the winter weather. So, a friend and I decided to do some retail therapy in Arlington and stumbled across Journal 2 Journal. Located in Lincoln Square in Arlington that is nicely located close to the entertainment district.
The space Journal 2 Journal has is quite large and what I didn’t realize before coming was that it is not just a gift store to buy handmade items, but also a space that is hugely focused on community. Whether you are looking for somewhere to partner for fundraising efforts to take part in one of their classes for handmaking a selection of items, this can either be a great place to shop to give back or a place to host your next event.
We enjoyed getting to speak with the friendly staff onsite who were ready to any question or help us look for the perfect gift. They had everything you guessed about it, journals, to a selection of soaps, candle melts and even clothing! You can even purchase personalized items that they make in-house. Since everything was handmade, I was pleasantly surprised by the affordability of their quality products and loved that I was able to support a great small business. I walked out with several scented candles and soaps that I look forward to both using for myself and gifting to my friends and family.
