Since the weather in DFW recently has been less than pleasant, finding indoor activities for the weekend is a must. Instead of sitting at home and binge-watching a show on Netflix, I decided to get out and out and do some retail shopping. Rather than visit a traditional shopping mall a friend suggested visiting the Mercantile with her. Located in Fort Worth off Camp Bowie Boulevard you can find this unique shop that houses multiple vendors selling all sorts of wears.
Noted as an antique shop, I found this place to be the perfect mix of old and new items. The store is split into a multitude of smaller shops that are owned and operated by their own vendors. The vendors ranged from a shop completely dedicated to Squishmellows to a store that specializes in handmade soaps. There were also some great antique vendors selling unique items that are a true blast from the past. While each vendor sets their own pricing, it was nice to see a variety of different price points that are perfect for any budget.
While walking through the clean and inviting environment, you are sure to work up an appetite! The Mercantile has you covered with a Tea Room onsite serving up delicious breakfast and lunch items that will have you feeling satisfied. While we didn’t stay to dine on this visit, I would be interested in trying the restaurant next time I come to stop. The Mercantile is open daily and if you are looking to shop for a variety of different small businesses, I would recommend giving them a visit next time you are out and about.
