If you are looking for an esthetic cafe that serves creamy matcha, smoothies, bakery items, coffee and more than look no further than SUBCO Coffee & Matcha. Recently opened off Bowen Road in Arlington, it might be easy to miss this spot that is tucked away inside a strip mart.
I love trying new local places so while I was out and about, I decided to give them a try. Upon walking in the friendly baristas were quick to welcome me. Since I had never been before, I took a few minutes to look over their menu that was packed with a variety of different flavor combinations, whether you enjoy something classic or more eccentric. I had a couple of questions regarding their foam toppers, and their team was great about giving me suggestions based on my preferences. I finally decided on the iced americano with their inhouse made ube cold foam.
As the barista got to work on my drink, I took a look at their options in their pastry case that I hope to enjoy on my next visit. Only a few short minutes later, my drink was ready to be enjoyed. Even on a Tuesday morning, this place was packed with a group enjoying the seating inside and many others grabbing a drink to go. So, while I wasn’t able to sit and enjoy the ambiance, I was extremely happy with the drink I chose and got to enjoy it throughout my day of running errands. The ube was a pretty purple color that stood out from the dark contrast of the espresso and gave the drink a slightly sweet and creamy flavor of coconut and almond. This spot is open daily from 8am-7pm and I would highly recommend stopping by if you are in the area.
