JD’s Donuts

Sometimes there is nothing better than the perfect sweet treat. What immediately comes to my mind when this craving hits is the perfect frosted donut. One of my favorite local shops is JD’s Donuts off Marshall Dr in North Grand Prairie. While from the outside this spot looks uninspiring, but inside the tantalizing smells of their fresh baked goods will have you coming back for more.

On my recent visit I knew I wanted to get a great selection of donuts to bring to a friend’s house as part of a brunch we were hosting. I made sure to get to the donut shop pretty early in the morning as I know they tend to sell out of certain selections as the day goes on. Walking inside you will be instantly greeted by their friendly staff with welcoming smiles and a case filled with all sorts of delicious goodies. Whether you want something classic like a traditional glazed donut, something fancy like their cake donuts topped with frosting and cereal, or something savory like a jalapeno and sausage stuffed kolache, you are sure to find something to enjoy here.

In addition to their large variety of donuts and treats, they also offer a case with ready to drink beverages and have a coffee station making it the perfect place to grab an entire breakfast on-the-go. Their pricing is comparable to others in the area, but I love that they offer special deals that are perfect if you are looking to purchase just for yourself or for a large group. On this visit I took advantage of their donut hole special that gave me a free dozen for purchasing $15 worth of donuts. The staff helped me to select a large variety of both donut holes and regular donuts that would be perfect for feeding my friend group. Everyone at my event commented on how fresh and tasty the donuts were. My favorite from the bunch had to be their coffee roll that had a light glaze and heavenly cinnamon flavor that paired nicely with a coffee I had.

This spot continues to provide excellent service and tasty treats that I crave. I would highly recommend this spot next time you are in the area and looking to support a great local business
