If you are looking for a place that can help you to reach your fitness goals, then look no further than The Beacon Recreation Center. Located off Mansfield Webb Road in Arlington, this large recreation center has everything you need to help you stay fit this summer. Whether you are looking to beat the heat on their indoor walking track, get strong in their fully stocked weight room, or just wanting to shoot some hoops with your friends, this recreation center has everything you need to look and feel your best.
After moving to the area, I knew I wanted to find a fitness center that had a great weight room and cardio machines. I was able to find that and more at this local rec center. The friendly staff were great with answering my initial questions and helping me to find a membership plan that worked well for my needs. They offer a couple of different levels of membership whether you are wanting just the basics or wanting to enjoy some fitness classes that are led by their instructors. The best part of having a membership to the Beacon is that your membership gets you access not only to this club, but the 5 other rec clubs in the Arlington area. If you are an Arlington resident, you can also take advantage of additional savings that your wallet is sure to thank you for, though I found their membership levels to be quite affordable for all of the amenities that are included. If you are a family, they also offer a family membership that is perfect to include everyone and great if you have littles that would like to enjoy the onsite splashpad or discounts to their kid’s club that is perfect for the summer and working parents.
While the gym isn’t huge, I found that it had everything I needed to get a great workout. With multiple machines, free weights, yoga mats, and more I loved that they had a great selection of equipment, and the gym isn’t too busy at the times I need to complete my workouts. The space is also very clean, and they have plenty of cleaning stations with wipes to clean your equipment. The members of this club are also very respectful and love that gym etiquette is enforced at the facility. If you are unsure where to start or just starting off in your fitness journey, this facility also offers personal training sessions with their professional trainers that can be purchased at an additional cost. While the Beacon doesn’t offer a pool, you can get a great swimming workout at one of the neighboring centers which is perfect for these hot Texas days.
