In a sweet, re-purposed house, on the refreshed streets of Old Town Roanoke sits one of the best shopping experiences in the DFW area. Teresa’s is a resale shop like no other. Since Roanoke is nestled in beside Trophy Club, Southlake and Keller, booming high income communities; the items here are not the everyday stuff. I’ve purchased Waterford crystal in this shop, as well as brand new Crayola items. Several box stores in the area donated new goods as well as quality resale but, that alone is not the full magic of Teresa’s.
North Texas Charities is a non-profit 501©3 organization fully committed to their mission of funding help and assistance to children, families and animals in need. The charities they donate to are:
Buckner Children and Family Services (includes orphanage and outreach programs)
McFadden Ranch for Boys (Part of the Texas Youth Correctional System)
Bryan’s House in Dallas (Nonprofit that helps kids with AIDS, and their families)
Roanoke Food Pantry Classy Cats (Nonprofit rescue and adoption organization for cats)
K-9 Soul Mates (Nonprofit rescue and adoption organization for cats and dogs)
Operation Kindness (Nonprofit rescue and adoption organization for dogs)
HSNT of Keller (a no-kill animal shelter)

Leap, Life Enhancement Association for People (a group of various physicians and surgeons that dedicate their time to children and adults born with deformities)
Plan a couple of hours if you want to truly take in all that is offered here. I spent thirty minutes just looking through children’s clothing. There are huge entertainment centers (also for sale) stuffed with odds and ends. Bins are overflowing with fabric and yarn. The jewelry selection ranges from costume to elegant but the prices are all more than reasonable. I found three Minecraft books (technical manuals my daughter has been searching for), a pair of pants that look like a mermaid’s tail (again, for my daughter), a doughnut press, a rotating cake stand, and barbecue utensils for the upcoming grilling holiday and only spent eighteen dollars!
With my child growing like a weed, shopping at Teresa’s will ensure that she can have a complete wardrobe even if she is only a size ten for five minutes. I can take the clothes back that she can no longer wear and find new things that will. Of course, after shopping for her it would then be my turn. I have already ear-marked a purse and house wares that I hope are still there on payday.
All workers in Teresa’s are volunteers; they take no pay to help you with your purchases and the upkeep of the store. However, the service is outstanding and you would never guess that these people do not get paid to do their job. Parking is a bit of a problem because the place is usually very busy. However, it is well worth it and the rest of the street is dominated by restaurants, so you can have a brisk sit after a morning of shopping. You are going to love Teresa’s and Roanoke.
