Katy Trail Ice House

For the true Texas patio experience there is no better place to enjoy a cold drink and delicious food than Katy Trail Ice House. Just like the name this Dallas establishment is located in the heart of uptown right off the Katy Trail. So if you’re looking for a spot to cool down after your afternoon run or a fun place with friends you have to stop by this beer garden and restaurant.

I had out of town guests in town so I wanted to bring them somewhere that gives them a great Texas patio feel. The large outdoor seating was the perfect place to enjoy each others company, while getting a great view of the trail. With the warmer winter weather it allowed us to sit outside at one of their many picnic style tables. We decided to start off with some drinks and ordered their famous frozen margarita, ranch water and a Paloma that was served in the perfect frosted glass.

We absolutely loved the fun atmosphere of music and quick service we received by our waitress. This patio is also pet friendly so your furry friend can join you after taking a walk along the trail. After we were enjoying our drinks we decided to split an order of loaded fries that were packed with cheese, bacon, green onions, jalapeños and ranch. It was large enough for us to share and was the perfect together with our beverages.

While the weather was perfect on our visit to enjoy outside, they do have a small indoor bar area as well for less than ideal days. You can also enjoy watching any major games on their selection of TVs located across the patio and indoor bar. Next time you are looking for a fun hangout spot be sure to head to the trail!
