Whether you are looking for a great haircut or wanting to try out a new color, finding an affordable salon is hard these days. With this in mind. I decided to give my local cosmetology school a try, and I was so happy I did! Not only was the service great, I was able to get a professional dye job and beautiful haircut for less than half the price of a downtown trendy salon, all thanks to the Paul Mitchell School in Arlington.

This spot is perfectly located in the Arlington Highlands, which makes it great for treating yourself to shopping or lunch after some self care at the salon. In addition to their women’s services, they also offer men’s options and have a barber school campus in the same shopping center. I scheduled my appointment online, but they also offer some walk-in options if you happen to be in the neighborhood and want to try them out.

I arrived just before my appointment time and was quickly seated in my future professional’s chair. She walked me through what my hair goals were and talked about the process for the appointment. I then met with a supervisor to discuss pricing before they started. Since most of the staff performing the services are cosmetology students, you do have to sign some paperwork acknowledging this beforehand.

Not only was everyone I interacted with kind and professional, they also took the time to complete my scheduled services in a timely manner. I loved that they explained everything clearly and did a great job with my hair. The supervisors were consistently walking around to answer any questions and help assist their students as needed. It was so fun to learn about their school experience and know that my time in the chair was helping them to more forward with their career. I will highly recommend this location to all of my friends and look forward to returning for my next appointment.
