Mi Dia From Scratch

With so many Tex Mex options to choose from in DFW, finding your favorite may be hard. This last weekend, I found my new favorite at Mia Dia From Scratch. This restaurant offers Mexican cuisine with a Santa Fe and Tex Mex style that will transport you out of the Metroplex. Grab your friends and head to Grapevine for an unforgettable meal everyone is sure to enjoy.

Since we were dining there on a Friday evening, I made sure to make reservations online ahead of time. This was a great idea, because when we arrived, the parking lot was packed and we knew we had picked the right spot. We checked in with the hostess stand and we were seated right away. As we took some time to look over the menu, our waiter brought us chips and salsa to enjoy. I loved that their salsa was a mix of a red and green and had the perfect amount of spice. The chips were crispy and salty and the perfect way to start off the meal.

For our drinks, we knew we had to try one of their infused tequilas that they are famous for, so we grabbed the spicy jalapeño margarita. This cocktail was lined with our choice of salt or tajin and packed with great flavor that wasn’t too spicy. For our main entrees, we grabbed the Baja shrimp tacos that I ordered grilled instead of bartered and shrimp fajitas. One thing to note that is if you are gluten-free, they do not have options for tortillas, but will do their best to accommodate your needs.

As we enjoyed our cocktails we loved the atmosphere of this lively restaurant and we couldn’t wait to dive into our meals. The food came out hot and fresh and the portion sizes were amazing. My meal came with four tacos, rice, beans and extra sauce. You could tell that everything was made fresh and was flavorful. The fajitas my friend ordered came out sizzling and had everything you needed to make it your own from guac to cheese and grilled veggies. They also received rice and beans and were great complete meals that had us feeling full and satisfied.
