Spice & Tea Merchants McKinney

One of Historic Downtown McKinney’s hidden gems is quietly tucked away on S Tennessee Street, directly across the street from Emporium Pies.

Spice and Tea Merchants of McKinney is home to over 145 teas, 300 herbs and spices, numerous hot sauces and unique olive oils, and much more. I accidentally spent over an hour at this store because every item is worth exploring.

The spice selection occupies at least half of the store and consists of hundreds of unique spice mixes. Most spices are available for sniff tests. Some of my favorite spices include the traditional Indian tandoori seasoning blend, the hot curry powder madras, and the coffee BBQ rub, which is a combination that blew me away. The marriage between coffee and BBQ is one that blends together harmoniously.

Spice and Tea Merchants also carry distinct hot and spicy infused sea salts, such as chipotle sea salt, ghost pepper sea salt, and even sriracha sea salt.

For those interested in the tea selection, Spice and Tea Merchants carry your favorite black, oolong, green, and white teas. Some flavors that caught my eye include ginger peach, lavender lime, orange cookie, and spiced plum. They also offer wellness teas meant for improving health. These teas include ingredients such as ginger, turmeric, and Valerian root. Whether you’re looking to heal a sore throat, boost your immunity, or get a good night’s rest, there are numerous blends available for health support.
