Smokey Rose

Sometimes you’re craving Tex-Mex and sometimes you’re craving bbq. What if I told you that you could enjoy both at this Instagramable Dallas restaurant? Yes it’s true you can enjoy both of these delicious cuisines all while relaxing on a beautiful patio at Smokey Rose.

Located in the White Rock lake area of Dallas this spot is found right off Garland Road. We decided to give them a try for brunch after hearing such great reviews. We made a reservation online, which I highly recommend as it was very busy on a Sunday afternoon. Upon arrival you will need to valet in their parking lot so I suggest bringing some cash to tip the drivers.

With our reservation we had the choice to sit outside or enjoy their patio. Since the weather was great we opted to sit outside which was perfectly comfortable with the covered pergola and heat lamps. In addition to their brunch selections we also had our choice of their regular menu and speciality drinks they were offering for February.

We started off with a round of drinks and some appetizers while we looked over the menu. I had their strawberry swirl that tasted great with the lemonade and had a great mix of sweet and sour. We loved the Smokey flavor from the brisket queso and the jalapeño poppers. They were the perfect way to start off the meal.

It did take us some time to look over the menu because everything sounded delicious. As we pondered we enjoyed the space and the curtsy of both of our waiters. I finally decided on their shrimp tacos that came grilled with a creamy cilantro ranch, smokey beans, and tasty rice. The three tacos filled me up quickly and even packed a punch of spice. I truly enjoyed the meal and can’t wait to try more of their menu items in the future.
