When I found out I had a severe gluten allergy, one of the first things I grieved was donuts. There are locally-owned and operated donut shops all over Dallas-Fort Worth, but few of them produce gluten-free donuts. The risk for cross-contamination is way too high. However, if you’re someone with a gluten or wheat allergy, you can count on Earnest Donuts to deliver a delicious and carefully baked gluten-free donut.

Their gluten-free donuts are cake donuts made with rice flour. You can choose between lightly glazed, chocolate iced, and salted caramel iced. They’re baked fresh, so they never sit in the display case along with the other donuts (which do contain wheat). However, gluten-free donuts do tend to sell out so your chances are high the earlier you visit!

Earnest Donuts has creative specialty donuts that are rotated per season, like Early Grey, maple bacon, strawberry cheesecake, and even croissant donuts featuring Nutella, almond, and bacon or cheesecake with strawberries.

If you’re feeling especially adventurous, Earnest Donuts also has breakfast sandwiches, like ham, egg, and cheese or bacon, egg, and cheese. However, you can choose between a croissant, bagel, or even a glazed donut as your bread options!
