Dave’s Hot Chicken

With the colder weather approaching, finding something hot and delicious to eat is a must. That’s why I am so happy to have Dave’s Hot Chicken in the neighborhood. Located in Arlington off Cooper Street this hot chicken joint is serving up southern classic favorites that are sure to warm you up.

This restaurant has recently gained popularity due to Drake’s publicity of the establishment. I knew I had to check it out for myself after hearing such great reviews, and I’m so happy I did. They offer a variety of ways to dine from eating in and take out to a convenient drive through for those on-the-go. With a simple yet delicious menu, it is sure to become a new favorite.

After checking out their menu online I decided to stop by for lunch while working in the area. The service was fast, but it the food was made fresh after ordering. I grabbed one of their classic slider sandwiches that was a portioned to the size of a regular sandwich. It was topped high with their kale coleslaw, housemade pickles, special Dave’s sauce, potato bun and crispy chicken that is seasoned with your choice of spice. The spice levels range from no spice to reaper which comes with its own disclaimer. For myself I went with the hot to test the waters before I dove into something too hot to handle.

The food was prepared to my liking and loved how the spice mixed with the cool slaw and pickles. It made for an enjoyable meal without being too overpowering. The chicken was perfectly crispy and the bun did a great job of soaking up the sauce so that the chicken kept its crunch. My meal was completely filling and kept me full throughout my day. I absolutely loved my meal and hope to return soon to try their tenders and mac n cheese.
