Leela’s Wine Bar – Uptown

What better way to get into the holiday spirit than to visit a restaurant with specialty cocktails and beautiful decorations that will have you feeling like you’re visiting the North Pole. Recently I had the chance to visit Leela’s Wine Bar in Uptown for some great drinks and eats that had me feeling holly jolly. Located off McKinney and Olive this Instagram worthy spot should definitely be on your Christmas list this holiday season.

The parking for this location can be kind of tricky, but this is a garage underground that will validate parking for dining at the restaurants upstairs. Even on the weekend we had no trouble finding a spot in the garage and heading up to Leela’s for our lunch reservation. This location is quite cozy with some restaurant and bar seating so highly recommend making a reservation in advance. Once inside and seated by their friendly staff you will be transported to a winter escape with their beautiful decorations and tree that are set up for the holidays.

Each table has a QR code that will direct you to their menu of appetizers, pizzas, and a cocktail list for those looking to enjoy an alcoholic beverage. For the holidays they even have a special cocktail menu with themed drinks and glassware that are both delicious and fun. We started off with the Polar Expresso and Down the Chimney Old Fashioned to accompany our spinach dip appetizer. Our drinks came out well presented and tasted just as good as they looked. The Old Fashioned was smokey and displayed in a cute Santa glass while the Polar Expresso came with my own ticket for the polar express.

One of our favorite bites of the day was the spinach dip spread that came from Culpepper Cattle Co, and was severed with pizza crust crackers that had great bite and flavor. For our main dishes we tried the Butcher pizza which is one of their best sellers and the Hot Honey. We loved that we were able to modify their signature pizzas to create flavors that were perfect for our taste. Each pizza was served hot and pilled high with their delicious toppings. My favorite was the Hot Honey that was a great mix of sweet and spicy from the spicy marinara sauce, pepperoni, jalapenos and hot honey drizzle. While my partner enjoyed the Butcher which came with pepperoni and sweet and spicy sausage. All of their pizzas came on their crispy thin crust and the perfect ratio of toppings.

We loved our experience from the drinks and food to the delightful service of the entire staff. It is definitely a new favorite on my list and somewhere I hope to dine again soon!
