The Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex boasts over 70 miles of bikeways, including bicycle paths and off-road trails. There is a prevalent cycling community in DFW, where newcomers and experienced riders alike are welcome.
I live close to Arbor Hills Nature Preserve, which has a 2.5 mile mountain bike trail loop for beginner to intermediate riders. In the near vicinity is Playtri Cycling, a locally-owned business specializing in all of your triathlon needs, from swimming and running to cycling. Runners and cyclists alike can take advantage of the massive shoe collection, carrying brands from Shimano and Oofos to Hoka and Garneau.
On the bicycle side, Frank and his team have everything you need to set you up with a fantastic bike that suits your needs or keep you tuned up and maintained. From spare parts and multi-function tools to cleaning supplies like degreasers and polish, you’ll find everything you need to have a comfortable bike ride.
I came in for a helmet and an upgraded bicycle seat. I went with a larger seat than the one I previously had, and one that provides more cushion. I also checked out Frank’s bike repair packages, which range from a very reasonable $35 quick tune up to a $290 platinum care service, depending on your needs. Playtri Cycling also offers a la carte services for those with unique requests.
