Dino’s Subs

If you are looking for a classic sub shop then look no further than Dino’s Subs. Located in Arlington off S Collin St, this counter service made-to-order sandwich shop has been serving up delicious subs since 1980. Opened by Jersey native himself, Mr. Dino this place is full of character and good eats.

This place reminded me of a traditional deli that can be found in Chicago or New York and I was super excited to find this place in my neighborhood. After reading lots of the five star reviews, I knew I had to check it out for myself.

Upon arrival this no frills shop has a large menu with over 26 sandwiches including hot and cold items. Your order is simple by choosing your bread option of white or wheat, sandwich size half or whole, and single or double of meat & cheese. Then you order by sandwich number and don’t even think about making a substation to their hand selected menu varieties. To make it your way you can get the sandwich with toppings of your choice or simply choose

the works” that is complimentary and comes with lettuce, tomato, vinegar, olive oil, parmesan, salt, & oregano.

For my lunch, I grabbed a #8 half sandwich on wheat bread. Also known as the Italian combo, this sandwich was pilled high with capocollo, prosciuttini, salami, and cheese. I knew I had to get “the works” in addition to dino dressing that was a mixture of hot pickles. For sides I grabbed a half pickle and macaroni salad to complete my deli meal. I couldn’t believe my entire order was just over $10 and provided plenty of food to keep me full throughout the day.

I brought my sandwich home with me, even though the restaurant provided plenty of indoor seating to enjoy. It was wrapped carefully and I couldn’t wait to dive in. The flavors were truly heavenly and brought me back to deli experiences I have had across the country. I absolutely loved the freshness of the meats and homemade bread. I know that this place is going to be on my favorites list for dining for years to come.
