BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse

When you are looking for a comfortable and laid back environment while still wanting delicious American style food, look no further than BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse. Located off I-20 in the Arlington Highlands, you can find this family friendly restaurant serving up your favorite classic fare and large list of house brewed beers.

We decided to grab a bite here when looking for a place that offered a great happy hour, lots of TVs, and plenty of seating for our party. We were immediately impressed by the staff and their ability to seat us right away during happy hour without a reservation. Our waitress was quick to greet us after seating and grabbed us some waters while we took a look at their menu.

To start off our meal we tired their famous avocado egg rolls that were recommend by our waitress. These avocado and cream cheese style egg rolls paired nicely with the sweet tamarind dipping sauce and were a great start to the meal. We also loved that we were able to grab a steal of a deal during their happy hour special that is available daily depending on the time you visit. In addition to great deals on select appetizers you can enjoy drink specials for beer, wine, and certain cocktails.

For my main entrée I tried the crispy jalapeno burger that was cooked to perfection. Topped with their crispy jalapenos, smokey pepper jack cheese, crisp lettuce, and fresh tomato this was by far one of my favorite burgers. This choice felt like the perfect compliment to our appetizer and was extremely filling, especially with the heaping pile of fries. My counterparts ordered a variety of options such as pizza, pasta, and even a ribeye which they all raved about.

While I could’ve been finished there, we knew we had to try their famous Pizookie and opted for the salted Carmel option. This cookie was truly melt in your mouth and paired nicely with the creamy vanilla ice cream. It was a great way to end the meal and perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth. All in all we had a wonderful dining experience and enjoyed the atmosphere of BJs. We hope to return soon to try their other specialty options.
