Some of the best matcha you’ll ever have is hiding in a micro-coffee shop in Dallas’s Oak Cliff neighborhood. You’ve gotta time your visit to Chasen Matcha Bar because they’re only open on weekends from 9 AM – 3 PM!
Chasen Matcha Bar uses ceremonial grade matcha in all of their drinks. All matcha drinks come unsweetened by default so ask for some sweetener if that’s your preference!
Everything on the menu sounds divine, as well as unique. One of the more interesting drinks is the Miso Caramel, which is Houjicha matcha with milk and house-made caramel miso sauce.
They also have a chocolatey twist to a typical Houjicha latte but with cocoa powder!
I ordered two drinks from the specialty menu, including a matcha Einspanner and a strawberry matcha topped with taro cold foam. The Einspanner is matcha with a vanilla cream top, matcha drizzle, matcha powder, and flaky sea salt. If you’re looking for matcha on matcha on matcha, the Einspanner is definitely the move.
