Shipley Do-Nuts

On almost every street corner in the DFW Metroplex you can find a spot for donuts. This concept was such a new experience to me when moving from out-of-town, but I can’t say it’s something I don’t enjoy. As someone who enjoys a sweet treat, especially in the morning, I love that I can find fresh baked goods no matter where I am in the Metroplex. A new favorite of mine comes from Shipley Do-Nuts that has several spots in the area. Recently I visited the Arlington location off East Pioneer Parkway and after the experience, I know I will be returning soon.

Instead of walking into a store and checking out the options at a counter, Shipley does things a little differently and offer a drive through experience. This can be extremely convenient as most places are only open in the morning and you want to get there as early as possible so you have your pick of your baked goods before they run out. Since I was purchasing for a group and didn’t need to see exact items, this solution worked perfectly for me. Though before ordering they do offer a large menu through the drive through with a large list of every donut and kolache imaginable. In addition to their large selection of delicious sweet treats they also offer several beverages that you can expect like coffee, juice and energy drinks that are perfect to start your day or help you with an afternoon pick-me-up.

When approaching the drive through the friendly associate assisted me by picking a great selection of assorted donuts and sweet roles that would be great for a group with different tastes. Since it was a drive through there was little to no-wait and the donuts were packaged nicely and ready for me to enjoy. I loved the selection they provided me with and the group provided several compliments. My personal favorite of the bunch was the morning bun that has a beautiful glaze with crispy edges and soft and chewy inside that had delicious cinnamon flavor and tasted great with a hot cup of coffee. This spot was super convenient to me and will be a place that I plan on visiting again.
