River’s Cocktail & Wine Bar

To me there is nothing better than a great happy hour and that is why I am so happy to have found River’s Cocktail & Wine Bar. This newly opened joint in the River District of Fort Worth is the perfect place to visit whether you are looking for a swanky cocktail bar with handcrafted drinks or looking to enjoy a delicious slice of pizza.

We decided to visit during the weekday so we could enjoy their happy hour deals that are available Monday-Friday from 12pm-7pm. It was easy enough to get a table and since they are new to the market we had almost the whole place to ourselves. Our waitress was quick to greet us and provide us with menus so that we could explore their drinks. After we place our drink order, we only had a short wait while they got to work making our selections.

For myself I knew I had to try their house espresso martini that was extremely refreshing and the perfect midday pick me up. Others in my group enjoyed their old fashioned and draft beer selections. As we were enjoying our drinks we turned our attention to the pizza menu that is served from Son of A Baker. They had so many delicious options but we decided to try 3 which included the Tristaroni that came with all beef pepperoni, the Menage a Trois with beef pepperoni, Italian sausage, and soppressata, and the Save-A-Pig that came with spinach, sauteed mushrooms, bell peppers, black olives, red onions. All pizzas came topped with fresh basil, oregano, and parmigiano Reggiano.

It was hard to pick a favorite amongst the three as all had great flavor and ample amount of toppings. We loved the crispy bottom of the crust that held together nicely with all the toppings.

We truly loved this spot and know that we will be returning soon for another great meal.
