Sometimes after a hard week there is nothing better than a sweat treat. At least that is what I tell myself and recently I found a place that truly helped me to feel better. Village Baking Co off Oak Lawn Avenue is filled with delicious sweet and savory treats and drinks that are perfect to start off your morning or end a hard day.
I decided to visit them on a Saturday morning, which while very busy still had plenty of options for me to enjoy. Their store may seem small, but is filled with a variety of items such as traditional croissants to seasonal tarts that are sure to fill you up with joy. This place has also been a comfort spot for me and I know that on every visit I will be getting something delicious and fresh.
On my latest trip we ordered a variety of different pastries, but my favorite has also been the almond croissant that is baked in their flakey and buttery dough and topped with delicious sliced almonds and powdered sugar. It is sweet without being too sweet and tastes great paired with a hot cup of coffee.
I love enjoying their treats usually at the bakery in their café style setting that will have you feeling like your in France rather than the hustle and bustle of downtown Dallas. They have great indoor and outdoor seating and the atmosphere is lively but peaceful. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for something delicious to brighten their day.
