MOTW Coffee and Pastries

To me there is nothing better than a great neighborhood coffee shop. MOTW Coffee and Pastries in Cedar Hill recently opened this year, and I had yet to give them a visit. While doing some shopping in the area, I knew I had to check them out and easily fond their storefront off Belt Line Road.

This cafe was beautifully decorated and offered a friendly ambiance the moment I walked through the door. From the serene mural to the comfortable seating options, I instantly felt like home. I was surprised to see the shop wasn’t busy on a Friday morning but loved that I didn’t feel rushed by the staff as I took a moment to look through their menu. They had so much to offer from traditional espresso based beverages to fun flavored matchas and refreshers and of course a huge case full of sweet and savory pastries. Since there was a chill in the air, I opted for a hot beverage and wanted something that was a good mix of sweet without being too sugary. I found this combination from their classic americano mixed with their sugar free coffee syrup. I couldn’t believe how affordable this large beverage was and while I waited for my drink to be prepared I grabbed a seat and table to enjoy the atmosphere.

After only a short wait my beverage was ready for me to enjoy. I loved the mix of flavors and that they offered such a large variety that would be perfect for anyone’s tastebuds. While I wasn’t hungry during my last visit, I know that I will need to return soon to try out some of their pastries. It was hard to resist items like baklava with the delicious mix of nuts and honey to the classics like blueberry crumble that would pair perfectly with a bold espresso drink. Though they are open daily until 9 or 10pm, I would highly recommend coming early to get your first pick of any of their pastries. This spot truly felt like a great addition to the neighborhood, and I look forward to returning soon to grab another great tasting drink and to enjoy their cafe space for my remote work needs.
