If I could describe a perfect way to spend a spring Saturday in DFW, it would definitely include a trip to the local Farmer’s Market. This past weekend I was able to enjoy this favorite activity of mine in downtown Arlington. Located off the main drag of restaurants and shops you will find this sprawling market off Front street featuring a variety of local vendors with items you are sure to enjoy.
This farmers market is free to enter and open on Saturdays from 10am-2pm. This is a great community asset that features a variety of vendors whether you are looking for handcrafted home goods or locally sourced produce that will take your home cooking to the next level. It was easy to find free street parking nearby and walk over to the large parking lot where the market is held.
Upon arrival around 11am the market was already packed with other people, but the vendors still featured plenty of items to enjoy. While walking from stall to stall vendors offered us a variety of samples to enjoy whether you are looking for baked goods such as sourdough or something spicy from the chili spice sauce, there was so much variety. My dog even got to enjoy a sample from the vendor selling homemade dog treats.
My partner and I enjoyed walking through the market and were able to pick up some great fresh produce that we used for our dinner later that evening. We found the pricing to be fair considering the wonderful quality of the items. We loved that we got to support several local businesses in our community and look forward to returning here soon!
