Texas Discovery Gardens at Fair Park

If you are a nature lover and looking to explore some beauty inside the Dallas city limits, then a visit to the Texas Discovery Gardens should be on your list this summer. Located inside Fair park off Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard you will find this sparling park space that features an art gallery, butterfly greenhouse, snake and reptile exhibit and beautiful gardens. Whether you are looking for an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city or looking for an educational nature experience, then this spot is a must!

I was lucky enough to attend a private event here and was not only impressed with the beautiful scenery, but the amazing hospitality of the Texas Discovery Gardens staff. Upon arrival, we were guided to a private parking space that was free to attendees. Everyone we interacted with had a smile on their face and welcomed our group. Walking into the gardens themselves, felt like were in a different climate with the sprawling greenery, vivid florals, and serene atmosphere that instantly put us at ease. The walkways were well paved, and I was happy as we were dressed up for the event and didn’t need to worry about walking through the grass or muddy areas from a recent rainstorm.

After walking through the green space that felt secluded, it opened up the beautiful gardens that featured a lovely fountain, park, and gazebo area that were all beautifully decorated with different plants and types of greenery. We enjoyed some lite bites and delicious cocktails while taking in the beauty of this area while we waited for the festivities to begin. From there we were offered the options to explore the gardens and exhibits before the main event started. We took our time walking through the greenhouse or as it’s called the Butterfly House to witness the beauty of over 50 types of butterflies. You could tell that the park is well cared for as everything was clean and kept up to date. I loved walking through the exhibit to explore and learn about all the different plant varieties and butterflies inside. After spending some time inside, we took the garden trail to discover the snake and reptile resort to see a variety of animals including lizards, frogs, turtles, and you guessed it snakes. We loved that even though we were there for a private event, we got to take advantage of visiting the different exhibits throughout the park.

We truly enjoyed our experience here and would recommend to anyone looking for a fun and educational summer activity. This would be a great spot for kids as there was even a playground and kids’ area that was perfect for running around and getting some energy out. While also plenty of indoor spaces to enjoy when the summer heat gets too much. To discover all that the Gardens have to offer, I’d recommend checking out their website that includes a full list of events happening weekly. This was truly a delightful experience, and I look forward to visiting as a guest soon!
