Chicago Deep Dish Pizza

Chicago may not be on your travel plans this summer, but did you know that you can enjoy their famous deep dish pizza right here in DFW? Skip the expensive plane ride and grab a friend or two to drive over to Las Colinas to experience this specialty pizza at Chicago Deep Dish Pizza. Located in Irving off John Carpenter Freeway this spot is easy to get to whether you live in the area or are coming from the east or west side of the Metroplex.

Being a lover of deep dish pizza myself, I couldn’t wait to try their take on one of my favorite dishes. We decided to visit them during our lunch hour and were able to take advantage of their weekday lunch special that’s available from 11am-2pm. The special is a great deal and includes a mini 3 topping pizza for $8.99 or a speciality pizza combo for $9.99. You can also make it a complete meal with a drink and salad for only $3 making it even cheaper than what you can find at most fast food restaurants now.

I knew I wanted to customize my toppings, so I went for the mini pizza with red onions and mushrooms while my friend grabbed the same deal but with sausage as their topping. We completed our meal with lemonade, iced tea, and salads of their house and Caesar. We were pleasantly surprised with the amount of food we received that kept us full and satisfied throughout the day. The pizzas were served hot and fresh and had a good amount of toppings and were well balanced with delicious flavor. While not what I think of when I think of a traditional deep dish, we found the pizza to be very tasty and something we would come back for again.

I loved the vibe of the restaurant that really spoke to the culture of Chicago. It felt like a grab neighborhood spot, and I enjoyed seeing all of the Chicago style sports memorabilia. We had a great lunch here and look forward to returning again soon for either lunch or dinner.
