Don Misenhimer Park

While there are tons of public parks in the DFW area, not all parks are the same. Whether having limited amenities or not well maintained, finding somewhere that is not only safe for families, pets, and solo visitors but convienet is a must. That is why I am so happy to have found Don Misenhimer Park.

Located in south Arlington off Lonesome Dove Trail you can find this vibrant spot that is perfect for spending some time outside. This comes from after a grueling summer, I wanted to find a place that had great trails to enjoy the cooler weather that has been moving into the fall area. I saw that this park was close to my office and had great online reviews making it somewhere I knew I needed to check out firsthand.

Upon arrival I was pleased with the well maintained parking lot with plenty of lighting and space. The park offers so much for families and sports enthusiasts with a splash pad, sand volleyball and baskebtall courts, covered picnic tables, a playground and field area. Everything looked like it was in great condition and while I didn’t use the equipment it would be something I would feel comfortable taking my family to. I enjoyed the scenic trails that offered great views of beautiful trees and even a creek. It was peaceful and even being alone, I felt perfectly safe and loved that this park was in a friendly neighborhood. I highly recommend coming in the morning not only for the cooler temperatures, but to also catch some stellar sunrise views that are peaceful and a beautiful way to start the day. I definitely plan on returning to this park to walk my dog or even to shoot some hoops.
