Frisco, Carrollton, and Dallas have large pockets of Asian cuisine, from Japan and Korea to Philippines and Vietnam. If you’re in the far north Dallas-Fort Worth suburbs and want to enjoy Japanese ice cream without sitting in traffic, look no further than Miruku Creamery. Quietly tucked away in McKinney’s Historic District is Miruku Creamery, whipping up Japanese-inspired soft serve and coffee until 7-9 PM most days.
Ordering at Miruku Creamery is very simple! Simply choose your flavor, pick between a cup or a cone, and select your toppings! They have few ice cream flavors so you aren’t overwhelmed with options. These flavors change weekly, so there’s always something new to try. The Miruku Milk (similar to vanilla) and chocolate flavors are always available, but the other two flavors rotate weekly. When we visited, they had taro and mango pineapple (dairy-free) flavors. Currently, those flavors have been swapped for azuki red bean and strawberry watermelon (also dairy-free). It’s thoughtful that they include at least one dairy-free option.
We enjoyed the Taro Mochi Bliss sundae, which included taro ice cream, taro mochi, rice krispies, and coconut cream. We also scarfed down the berry soda float with the signature Miruku Milk ice cream and both of these were divine! These sweet treats were the best way to beat the heat.
If you don’t want to build your own ice cream sundae, Miruku Creamery does have signature sundaes for you to choose from, such as:
- Day Dream (featuring Miruku Milk ice cream, rainbow crunch, rolled wafers, and cotton candy)
- Chocolate Madness (chocolate ice cream with chocolate sauce, chocolate cookie crumble, and brownie chunks)
- Berry Berry (Miruku Milk ice cream with berries compote, cornflakes, and a croffle!)
- Coffee or Matcha Affogato (Miruku Milk ice cream, your choice of espresso or matcha, honeycomb dalgona, and a waffle crisp)
Miruku Creamery also has espresso-based coffee drinks available, including cappuccinos, mocha lattes, and caramel machiatos. Their coffee specialties include a dalgona latte, dalgona matcha latte, and Vietnamese coffee!
