When people think of desserts, delicacies like ice cream and cake are usually at the forefront of their mind. Vietnamese people enjoy dessert differently, usually in the form of coconut jelly. Coconut Paradise is a small mom-and-pop shop located inside of 99 Ranch Market in Carrollton, just off of George Bush Tollway and Old Denton.
The concept for Coconut Paradise is simple: You select from one of five bases and then select up to three toppings! You can completely customize your coconut jelly dessert and choose to enjoy it in a cute jar branded with the company’s logo, or prepared in a whole coconut!
Base flavors consist of original coconut, use, sakura strawberry, fresh coconut water, and one seasonal flavor. All base flavors and toppings are gluten-free and vegan unless otherwise stated! Go traditional or adventurous with your coconut jelly dessert and select from toppings such as fresh mochi, red bean, toasted coconut, fresh mango or strawberry, and even rose and lychee jelly cubes!
I tried the Fire Toasted Caramelized Durian jar, which was eerily similar to a creme brûlée but with durian! I also tried the a jar with ube coconut as my base and boba balls with toasted coconut as my toppings. Coconut Paradise only uses all natural ingredients, so it satisfied my sweet tooth without the added guilt.
