If you are looking to dine at a Dallas staple, then look no further than Norma’s Café. With several locations across DFW you are sure to be impressed by this longstanding diner that is serving up comforting southern dishes that are sure to warm your heart and your stomach. We were lucky enough to visit their Dallas location recently off Davis Street near Kessler Park and it was the highlight of our week.
This institution has been serving the Metroplex since 1956 and after visiting for breakfast recently we could tell why. When you walk in you feel like you’ve stepped back in time with their old school décor and charming environment. We were shocked that even during the week this place was hoping, but the service and quality was still great even though it was busy.
We started off our meal with a round of their delicious coffee that tasted great on the cold day that Dallas was experiencing. Their menu was packed with so many options whether you were looking to enjoy one of their all day breakfast options or something more hearty for lunch. No matter what you choose you are sure to get a delicious bite every time. Along with their sweet sand savory options, you will be enticed with their selection of fresh made pies that can be seen in the cases when walking into the restaurant. While we didn’t save room for dessert on this visit, we plan to grab a slice the next time we come.
For this visit, I decided on a classic of a vegetable omelet that came with mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, tomato and Swiss cheese. The omelet itself was cooked to perfection and a great filling option that was served with my choice of hash browns or grits and homemade biscuits or toast. I had no complaints with any of the delicious options I was served and truly enjoyed our experience here.
