HG Sply Co.

Have you ever been to HG Sply Co? You may have known them for their tasty dishes and fun atmosphere, but recently they have made some changes to their menu. Unlike other restaurants where the quality may be going down and higher prices, HG is changing the game by committing to serving healthy organic, non-processed, and seed oil free options that not only taste amazing but are great for you! I was very excited once they changes were announced and knew I had to check them out for myself.

They have several locations across the metroplex, but I recently visited the Fort Worth location that is close to the TCU campus on River Run. Going during the week this place was still packed for lunch time, but luckily my partner and I were still able to grab a seat immediately. Unfortunately the bad weather eliminated the opportunity to enjoy their outdoor patio area, but we truly loved the ambiance inside the restaurant and the friendly service of all the staff members.

While our waiter grabbed us some waters, we took our time to look over their menu that included favorites from their old menu, in addition to some new dishes. It was hard to pick from as everything sounded great and there were tons of options whether you were looking for a protein packed meal or something more veggie forward. To start off the meal, I tried their curried sweet potato soup that was perfect for the cold and dreary weather. It was a great mix of sweet and spicy and uniquely served with shaved brussels, pomegranate seeds, and pepitas. It was the perfect way to start off the meal and had me even more excited for the entrees.

My partner ordered their seared fish tacos that were pilled high with wild caught mahi mahi, a sweet and savory slaw, picked red onions, avocado crema, and cilantro. With their meal they also got a choice of side options and they picked the farmhouse salad. The flavors were bright and fresh and it was the perfect size entrée to have them feeling full and satisfied. We also appreciated the staff took note of my partner’s allergy and care to make sure they would be safe. For my main, I wanted to try their yellow curry that was packed with spice and vegetables of sweet potato, broccoli, kale, tomato, cucumber herb relish, green onions, and spicy fresno peppers. It was truly delicious and tasted great with the perfectly grilled shrimp that I added. We also enjoyed that the menu clearly displayed the macros for each meal which is great for those who track.

All in all we had such a wonderful experience and loved the food and service. I can’t wait to come back soon to have not only great tasting food, but food that is great for me.
