If you have been to downtown McKinney, you know there are plenty of restaurants to enjoy in the area. One of the hot spots Cadillac Pizza Pub, should definitely be on your list if you haven’t tried them before. Located off Kentucky Street semi tucked away you will find this brick-walled pub that is serving up delicious pies and cocktails with a music centric vibe.
Going on the weekend you should be prepared to wait for a table as they don’t accept reservations and have only several coveted tables both inside the restaurant and on the patio, but the wait for their award winning pizza is definitely worth the wait! Luckily if you do have to wait you can spend some time enjoying the neighborhood whether you are looking to shop, hop on the trolley or grab a pint nearby. After putting our name on the list, we received a text about 30 minutes later letting us know our table was ready.
Once seated we took a look at their menu while our friendly server grabbed us our beverages of choice. We were happy to try some local brews from the brewery down the street and enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. To start off the meal, we tried their meatball and spinach and artichoke appetizers that was plentiful to split amongst four people. Both were extremely flavorful and the perfect way to start off our meal.
The real stars of the show though were definitely their pizzas that were inspired by famous New York pizzerias. It was hard to decide on which pies to try, but our waitress gave great recommendations. Ultimately we grabbed a Queen Margherita that came with traditional red sauce, fresh mozzarella, tomato and fresh basil. To make it our own, we added some Italian sausage that gave the pizza the perfect bite. We also wanted to try the Bee’s Knees that was packed with spice from the spicy sauce, hot soppressata, fresh mozzarella, basil, and topped with local honey. This pizza was the perfect mix of sweet and spicy.
Our eyes were definitely bigger than our stomachs as the amount of food was plentiful and had us stuffed and even gave us leftovers to take home. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a great live music hub that serves up delicious pizza and tasty beverages.
