If you are craving a delicious deli sandwich you may think that you need to book a trip to New York. Though an exciting trip could be in your future, you may be glad to know you can experience a truly New York style deli experience right here in the Metroplex. Located off Preston Road between Addison and Plano you will find Deli News, a counter style restaurant offering fresh sliced sandwiches and comforting entrees that everyone is sure to enjoy.

We decided to dine here after visiting some other spots in the area. Since it was a weekday, there was plenty of room for us to grab a seat inside to dine. The staff inside was extremely courteous and made us feel right at home without being rushed to order while we took some time to look over their expansive menu. There was so much to choose from whether you are craving something hearty from their sandwich board or something on the lighter side from their salad selection. They had so many different options to choose from for breakfast and lunch.

Ultimately, we decided on their traditional sandwiches since that is what they are famous for. I started off with a Matza Ball soup that was perfect for warming me up on a cold day. It was served in a flavorful chicken broth and had a great taste to start off the meal. For my main I chose the Pastrami sandwich that was served with my choose of side and I picked the coleslaw. The meat was extremely flavorful, and I loved the combination on the fresh rye bread. The coleslaw was creamy and paired nicely with the bold smoked meat. My friend decided to try their take on a Reuben that was piled high with corned beef and topped with sauerkraut and melted Swiss cheese with their Russian dressing on the side. The sandwich was served open faced on rye bread and definitely needed to be served with a fork and knife. My friend commented that it was so good and lived up to the high expectations we had. She enjoyed the crispy onion rings that had a great batter to onion ratio and had her stuffed for the rest of the day.

While the pries weren’t cheap, we found that the quality of the items matched the value. We would definitely visit here again for a great meal and would recommend this spot to family and friends in the area.
