When you think of dessert, I’m sure sweet treats come first to mind. For those of you who prefer desserts on the less sweet side, I’ve got the perfect joint for you. Nestled in McKinney just off of highway 380 is Coco Mango, an Asian-owned, locally operated mango-themed dessert establishment, as well as boba shop!
Mangos are always in season at Coco Mango, where you can order mango-based desserts from ice cream sundaes to shaved ice bowls to bubble waffle treats. The menu is stacked with salivating choices, so we ordered several options! We couldn’t resist the mango shaved iced bowl, which comes with mango flavored shaved iced flakes, mangoes, mango boba, lychee, and topped with a scoop of mango ice cream. Be warned: this bowl is large enough to accommodate at least three people comfortably so bring a friend or two! The mango sundae is on the smaller side, perfect for 1-2 people if you’re worried about calories!
The tiger brown sugar shaved iced bowl was similar with brown sugar ice cream flakes, brown sugar boba, drizzled with brown sugar and topped with brown sugar ice cream. We also tried the Nutella waffles which are topped with the ice cream scoop of your choosing. Ours was taro and it was phenomenal!!
