Located in Las Colinas near Lake Carolyn you will find this California inspired coffee shop that makes their coffee syrups in house and is truly becoming a staple in the community. Since I work in the area, I have heard a great buzz about this place from my coworkers, and I knew I had to check it out for myself. I went for a midday pick me up on a Thursday afternoon and this quaint coffee shop was popping. With a line out the door, I had high expectations that were definitely exceeded. While waiting for my turn to order I looked up their menu online and loved that they had so much to offer. In addition to classic favorites like a vanilla latte, they offered unique flavor combinations such as the Old Yosemite that featured sweetness from figs with early flavors of rosemary and vanilla. I loved that the names of the drinks all had a nod to their California background and felt that they were truly crafted with love. If you are not a coffee lover, they also have you covered with their menu featuring a wide variety of matcha, tea, smoothies, and breakfast and lunch items that will have you satisfied no matter what time of day.
I knew I wanted to try something different, so I grabbed the Malibu Bonfire that came with a mix of sweet and savory from the buttery caramel with some smoke and sea salt. I grabbed the drink iced since it was a hot summer day and took a step to the side while the busy baristas got to work. While I waited, I got to enjoy the energetic atmosphere of the cafe that was mixed with families enjoying their summer playing board games, busy remote workers typing away at their computers at a high-top table, and even a group of friends just enjoying an afternoon get together. I loved the sense of community you can feel just sitting(or standing while you wait for your drink).
After only a short wait my drink was ready to be enjoyed and after my first sip I was hooked. The flavor combination was unreal and felt well worth the price I paid. I loved my experience here and can’t wait to check out some of their local events next time I am in the area.
