My Groovy Cafe

*Editor’s note– the cafe ceased operations in the library August 14, but is looking to move elsewhere in the future.

Did you know there was a mobile cafe located inside the Cedar Hill Library? Neither did I until my most recent visit to the beautiful Hickman Public Library and educational center. Located off Pioneer Trail you will find this sprawling campus with beautiful scenery, event space rentals, a museum, and even what they have termed a community focused coffee shop called My Groovy Cafe.

Walking inside the library, you will be greeted by their friendly staff at the entrance desk. You do not need to be a library member to enjoy the cafe, and you can simply walk towards the desk and hang a left down the stairs that will lead you to the mobile cafe station. There are several tables and long steps that are perfect for relaxing with your beverage or your favorite book. The cafe is a small but mighty spot serving up delicious coffee from 10am-4pm making it the perfect spot to grab a drink during the day. They specialize in freshly brewed local coffee and from the first sip of my drink I could tell they truly care about the beans they use to make their drinks.

Their menu features a good variety of options for coffee, matchas, teas, refreshers and more. On this visit I knew I wanted something cool and sweet, so I had to try their Cinnamon Cloud Latte listed under their specialty drinks. This tasty latte features both hazelnut and white chocolate syrups with strong espresso and a vanilla cold foam that is topped with cinnamon. It was definitely on the sweet side but was very refreshing and the perfect way to cool down on a warm summer day. The cafe is nestled in such a cozy atmosphere and was the perfect place to relax while enjoying my current read.
