Butter & Grace -The Mini

If you are craving comfort food in a place that feels like a small hometown, then you need to take a trip to Butter & Grace- The Mini. Located in historic downtown Waxahachie, you will find this breakfast and lunch spot serving up delicious bites all from their friendly and welcoming staff.

While visiting downtown Waxahachie for a day of shopping, we had worked up quite the appetite, while a lot of businesses are unfortunately closed on Sundays, we were happy to find Butter & Grace. We lucked out on not having to wait for a table and truly felt like we hit the popular restaurant at the right time. Their hostess was sweet and got us seated immediately and left us some time to look over their menu that was full of variety. Whether you were craving the basics of eggs and hashbrowns or wanting something decadent like cinnamon roll pancakes or shredded chicken chilaquiles they have you covered for sweet and savory appetites alike. If you wanting to start off your day with a bbuzz, they have a full cafe serving up tasty, caffeinated drinks and a full-service bar with fun cocktails that are perfect for a boozy brunch.

Since we were just looking for a good cup of joe, we all started with their house drip coffee that was served up in mismatched china that felt like we were dining at a friend’s house. Since their menu offered so much to choose from, we asked our waitress for some suggestions and questions to help narrow down the choices. Everything sounded so great, but we all found something that peaked our interests.

I ordered their wake-up club that came triple stacked on sourdough bread with egg, turkey bacon, cheddar cheese, tomato and a side of crispy tator tots. A friend wanted to try their turkey bacon croissant that came with scrambled eggs, turkey bacon and sausage, pepper jack cheese, and arugula for a spicy and peppery bite and a side of fresh fruit for a completee and filling breakfast. Our other friend wanted a hearty breakfast, so they grabbed the classic breakfast that came with two eggs of their choice, meat of sausage patties, crispy hashbrowns, and two large and fluffy buttermilk pancakes. We were all impressed with their large portion sizes that gave two of us plenty to enjoy in the moment and bring home for leftovers. We felt like their pricing was fair for the food we received, and we all enjoyed our meals with no complaints. The hospitaltiy of the staff matched the welcoming atmosphere of their sweet town and we hope to return back here soon!
