Whether you are taking a day trip to explore this lively town or just passing through, I highly recommend this spot for great shopping, tasty eats and more.
I have never had the opportunity to explore this city located just 30 minutes outside of downtown Dallas and when looking for a place to enjoy this summer a friend suggested a visit to Waxahachie. Upon arriving I instantly fell in love with the small town atmosphere and friendly hospitality that ever shop owner seemed to portray. While you may feel like an outsider at a restaurant since everyone seems to know everyone after a few minutes they will have you feeling right at home. It’s the perfect place to visit when you want to get outside of the hustle and bustle of city living.
We didn’t have a plan in mind and enjoyed our day walking through the downtown square that offered a variety of different small businesses, restaurants, a movie theater and even the Ellis county courthouse. The square area was beautifully kept and we loved getting to walk outside and find different shops to stop inside. Spending the day here was the perfect way to get outside the city and would be great for a family getaway or a day date.
